Healthcare and Life Sciences Construction & Modernization Challenges
The Building Congress recently published a special report that highlights an important reality: healthcare facilities are essential infrastructure, and modernization is not optional. As the way we deliver care continues to evolve, our facilities must evolve with it. Modernization, resiliency, innovation, and access to care are no longer separate conversations - they are deeply interconnected. Hospitals built decades ago are being asked to deliver 21st-century care in facilities that were never designed to accommodate today's technologies, clinical standards, and patient expectations. At the same time, the healthcare and life sciences sectors remain major economic drivers, supporting hundreds of thousands of jobs and generating billions of dollars in economic activity. But not every area experiences this growth the same way. How does having room for new construction out West line up with/differ from more urban settings with limited room to grow? This panel will discuss how this delicate dance between modernization and location-based influences and limitations takes place across the country.
